Music & Living Paintings
Music can be heard differently when it is also seen.
In Living Paintings I choose paintings that enter into dialogue with the music and help reveal its imagery and atmosphere. They transform through light, movement and projection.
This resonates especially with Impressionist repertoire. Debussy was deeply fascinated by nature, its sounds and images, and by the possibility of translating them into music — and he followed the visual art of his time closely.
Here, paintings are not simply a visual accompaniment to the music, but another way of hearing it.
