Biography

Kseniia Shor is a Russian pianist whose artistic identity combines a refined sound world, a strong narrative approach to interpretation and a deep curiosity for both traditional and contemporary repertoire. Born in St. Petersburg, she began piano studies at the Lyahovitskaya Music School and continued her professional education at the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Music College with Inna Moiseeva, performing regularly in concerts and charity events throughout the city.

In 2018 she moved to Germany to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where she completed her bachelor’s degree and continued into the master’s programme in the piano class of Markus Bellheim and Silke Avenhaus.

As part of her master’s studies she also took part in international academic exchange programmes, spending study periods at Musikene (Higher School of Music of the Basque Country) with Marta Zabaleta and at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Håvard Gimse, while remaining enrolled in Munich. These exchanges allowed her to broaden her artistic profile and specialise in Spanish and Scandinavian repertoire alongside her main programme.

She attended masterclasses with Rena Shereshevskaya, Viktor Derevianko, Oksana Yablonskaya, Golda Vainberg-Tatz, Yossi Reshef and Dmitri Alexeev, and soon established an active concert presence, performing across Europe in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Israel, Slovenia and Russia.

Kseniia is particularly engaged with contemporary music and collaborates closely with young composers. She has premiered numerous new works and participated in contemporary projects, including a performance of Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians at Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana. Her repertoire spans Russian, Spanish, German and Scandinavian traditions, with a special focus on colour, resonance and structure.

In Munich she also studies Lied interpretation with Fritz Schwinghammer, expanding her activity in vocal chamber music. Since 2025 she has been actively collaborating with singers, giving joint recitals and building a broad Lied repertoire.

Her achievements include the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung scholarship, awarded to outstanding international students, as well as prizes at several international competitions, including the Vienna Classical Music Academy Competition, the Savshinsky Competition, and the 4th Edition of the Piano Competition Online.

Kseniia performs regularly in venues such as the Gasteig in Munich and Palazzo Ricci in Italy, and in concerts in Zurich, Oslo, San Sebastián and Saint Petersburg. She continues to build an international career, presenting programmes that bridge classical tradition and contemporary creation.
